SOAR Inflatable Canoes - Somewhere On A River

The White River flows south from Beaver Lake in Washington County near Fayetteville, then cannot make up its mind where it wants to go as it winds its way across Arkansas from north to south and west to east. The Buffalo National River flows into the White River in Baxter County, where the White then starts another zig-zag run up and down, back and forth across the state, picking up the waters from Bayou Des Arc, the Big, Black, Cache, Current, Eleven Point, Little Red, Spring and Strawberry Rivers, among others before finally finding its way to its confluence with the Mississippi River in Desha County of eastcentral Arkansas. Much of the White River offers excellent paddle trips, as do most of its major tributaries, which are separately described at the links below. The river flows through the Arkansas Ozarks, which is why it changes direction so many times. A paddler could get drunk just trying to follow the path of the White River, and a GPS receiver would probably go on strike!
